Bertha's Guest Flats consist of four charming, fully equipped, self-catering flats situated in the heart of historical Stellenbosch, between upper Dorp Street and the Eerste River, and west of the University’s Theological School.
The guest house caters for a maximum of 16 people. After an active day of walking, cycling, sight-seeing, driving, and many other activities, you will find it the ideal place to relax, freshen up, enjoy a home-made evening meal, or dine out at one of the many superb restaurants in Stellenbosch. You will certainly need a good night's rest to prepare you for the next day’s activities.
Enjoy a short walk to Paul Roos Gymnasium and the Coetzenburg sports grounds. It is only a few minutes' away from the village centre’s coffee shops, restaurants, curio shops, post office, banks, museums, “Oom Samie se winkel”, information centre, cinemas, food stores, pubs and the University of Stellenbosch.
The location is ideal for holidays, business, research academics or for a base to visit surrounding areas like Franschhoek, Paarl, Wellington, Cape Town, Strand, Somerset West and all the wine farms.
Our Guests say:
Most friendly and helpful couple we have met in a long, long time. Bent over backwards to be helpful, although the rooms are so pleasantly furnished and comfortable that very little can be asked for. It really is like home.

We spent a lovely time at Bertha's Guest Flat. The apartment was just right for the five of us. It is very central so you can easily walk around in town, a wonderful super-market is just around the corner. Elsbeth and Paul are very nice people. If you are interested in hiking Paul is just the right person to ask.

This was one of my best accommodations in a very, very long time. Thanks for the great experience.
